How is that rude? It's completely true. Not only do you lose more weight due to water loss, but the increase in body temperature causes you to burn more calories, thus helping you lose weight.

In some cases, the question is rather, "What kind of calories should I eat? Carbs, protein, or fat?". In my case, I weight more on bad carbs (bagels, bread, cookies, etc.) than fat and protein for the same amount of calories.

I think recipes are really the way to go. My cousin lost CRAZY weight with a book called "Grandmother's Kitchen Wisdom" :)

Put on some sweatpants, a sweater, and hop on the treadmill. The more you sweat, the more you lose ;]

LOW carb and high protein and fibre is a very good diet. But if you're exercising everyday you have no choice but to eat carbohydrates. Also it applies to most ppl that if you never ever eat one of your favorite fatty foods eg. chocolate or ice cream then you will explode and go on some sort of binge and ruin all ur hard work.

I was very serious. Every time I was eating high-carb meals, I felt like junk food. The more sugar you take in, the more sugar you want. It becomes hard to have enough. When on low-carb for several days, junk food does not tell me anything anymore.

Everyone is carrying on about dieting... i know a surefire way to lose weight .. its called the extreme hood diet.. it works simply... you drink a bottle of gin, make a smart remark about someone mother and get your jaw broken and then wired back together..

5 small meals a day. Less carbs after 5pm. 1 Day a week where you let yourself eat junk so you don't go nuts and end up going on a week long binge. If you go on a "diet" you have to go off the "diet" and you'll blow right back up. Its not rocket science.

if i had to measure my food with cups id slit my wrists after about 2 weeks i dont see how you're encouraging less ED by suggesting everyone measures their food that just makes people more obsessive about calories

Yes. This is called the Thermogenic Effect of Food (TEF). For the typical American Diet, the TEF is 10.7%. The TEF of a clean diet would be 14-15%. The cleaner your diet is, the higher the TEF. So, eating a clean diet makes your metabolism higher. With a clean diet, your metabolism is about 4% higher than if you eat the typical American Diet.

The 50 extra Calorie figure for muscle is wrong. Each pound of muscle only helps you burn an extra 17-26 Calories per day. According to the Body Fat Guide by Ron Brown, your RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) is 13.83*LBM. So, each pound of extra muscle increases your RMR by 13.83 Calories. Depending on your activity level, this translates into an extra 17-26 Calories burned per day for each extra pound of muscle.

all this stuff is tedious but it works. if i didn't measure crap, i'd keep eating till im full. they say to stop eatting when you're not hungry, but the problem is im always hungry. so that in itself is bs. bottom line. if calories eaten is less than calories burned, then you lose weight. if you're inactive, some of that weight can be muscle loss, but at this point im sure a dieter would rather be lanky than fat. there's no secret or easy way out, just will power.
