I have PCOS, I found out about 4 weeks ago. My doctors havent told me much about it all I know is whats on the internet and the more i look into it the more down i get. My doctors havent gone through treatments or nothing with me. I know it cant be cured but should whats the best treatments? Im not over weight but my periods are all over the place. I suffer miganes and heard the pill isnt good because of the containdications etc. Im worried if I leave it it will get worse.

Diet, exercise and an insulin sensitizer can normalize periods in up to 85% of women. So there is hope and you can increase your overall health by addressing this condition when you are young.

No, the symptoms are manageable, but the underlying genetic predisposition and insulin glucose disorder is not curable.

is PCOS not curabLe??

I Think I Have iT and Im So Scared. Will i Be Able to Have children? Will I Ever Have Normal Periods Regular Ones? Do I Really Have To Go Through An Internal Examination? If I Have Kids Will They Have It Too?

I started having PCOS problems when I hit puberty at 10, wasn't diagnosed until I was 18, and wasn't told anything about it until 6 months ago (new doctor) and I am 31 now. Kinda Pissed!!!! Seeing as I now have a huge weight problem (even when eating healthy), type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and anxiety attacks caused by elevated insulin levels that are caused by stress. I am thankful that young people today have more resources to help them through this! I'll be praying for you cysters!

Ovarian drilling is an expensive, last reserve approach. Low glycemic diet and exercise along with an insulin sensitizer should be tried first. Drilling can cause adhesions and does not seem to work with smokers.

Im 16 and i just got diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN, i did an ultrasound and she looked at it and called me back and said i had this disease, is looking at ultrasound pictures enough to diagnose me with this disease?

This video is very helpful and hopeful. I really wished I knew what PCOS was before I was diagnosed while ttc. Clomid didn't seem to work for us but I didn't need IVF either. I was given shots to trigger ovulation and it worked and I gave birth to my 1st daughter! I lost ~30 pounds from breastfeeding and we got pregnant using absolutely NOTHING with our 2nd daughter. It's not just about conceiving now for me. It's about being healthy!

my daughter has pcos and the doctor put her on birth control pills? Why? What can that do?

inshaAllah (god Willing) you will i have PCos and been TTC for 4 years and today i checked and the result is postive but have to see the DOC in a while to confirm. u can see on youtube so many ppl were told they had PCOD yet they have babies now. so have patience. Get all the medical treament you can and then Leave it in the hands of God.

im 15 and was diagnosed this week i'm so glad i now have an answer 2 why i only had 2 periods last year

I share your pain; your not alone. :[ except i was diagnosed at 13. i feel like it ruined my life.

I have PCOS since I was 12, or at least all the symptoms. I was on diet for 15 years, and begun using Metformin few years ago. I was seriously depressed by the time and was also on medication for that. By now I stopped the depression medication, and am still on Metformin. I noticed though that if I don't take metformin for more that a day, I get depressed again without any reason. Does anyone know if there is any research about that?

yes i have one child, and have recently got diganosed with it

am 19 n ave had pcos since i was bout 12-14 n ave had the metformin tablets bt they caused heavy diorreah with me so a wis took off them then a tried them again bt the same thing happened.its hard to cope with for me.i have heavy hirtuism too......it hard to cope with

i was told i had it last month its really scary because im 17 and i have sex and i cant tell if im pregnant or not is their somthing i can do 2 stop it or help

i havent had my period since may n before tht i hadnt gotten it for a year. i've always been regular before. my cousin was diagnosed a lil while ago. we r both over weight. i typed in the symptoms n got this. how is this diagnosed bc i don't want them putting a camera down there. i'm trying to lose weight but id have a lot of support

How do you get diagnosed with PCOS? I think I have it but doctors never did anyting.

I'm 21 and I was just diagnosed with PCOS, but I don't have insurance so seeing a doctor and getting the proper treatment is going to have to wait. I'm still coming to terms with my diagnosis.

does anyone know anything about Ovarian drilling and does it work should i ask my doc about it?

it is really hard to deal with the side effects of the medication but taking it with food and full glass of water it will ease and with a healthy diet and lots of excersize will help. Believe me i know its hard but i wish i had made that step when i was young.

yes it can happen ,i have a friend who have 2 kids and some yrs after when she was trying to have another their were porblems and she was diagnosed with PCOS.

i think i have pcos although i havent go to doctor yet to checkit out but i have a feeling cuz my menstrations is irregular..i dont want to have this..is this pcos deadly?somebody answer what to do..tnx...
