I agree with you here. The guy was trying to be funny but just did not have the finesse to pull it off. I sort of understood the joke of it, but it fell way short and could easily be thought as a re-enforcement tool for ignoramuses to continue to think negatively towards us blacks.

I also think his statement was sufficiently extreme so that it was clear it was not meant to be taken seriously. In the end though, this sort of stereotyping will reinforce the views of those who already believe it, and simply be a joke to those that don't.

The thing that amuses me about most of the responses that have been in your same vein is that PHIL never said his video was satire on anything. Personally I doubt he has the finesse or subtlety to actually make a satirical video about the topic of racism. What he did was make a video that endorsed ignorant stereotypes without any attempt to explain his purpose. I wouldn't be surprised if he does actually believe the things that he says are facts.
