Here's another mind bender...Imagine this, you are sitting on the sofa staring at your dog sitting five feet away from you. You see Fido because your eyes see the reflected light bouncing off of him. Light travels at a certain speed, and though it seems instantanious to us, its not. It took the light a tiny fraction of a second to reach your eyes. So, you see Fido as he was a tiny fraction of a second ago. Everywhere you look, you are looking into the past.

We also cannot even see the edge, because the light has not had enough time to reach us from those incredible distances. When you look into the night sky at the stars, you are actually looking back in time. Since light travels at a finite speed, it may take hundreds, millions, even billions of years for the light to reach our planet. This phenomenon applies to closer objects such as our sun. It takes the sun's light 8 min to reach us, so when you look at it, you see the sun as it was 8 min ago.

No one really knows. Remember that the universe is expanding at incredible speeds and expanding faster all the time. Light speed is the universal speed limit. Nothing can go faster than 186,000 miles/sec. Still, at the moment of the Big Bang, space itself expanded to billions of light years in a fraction of a sec. So even if we made a bee line at light speed for this edge, we could never reach it because the edge is moving away faster than we could chase it.

@Glennfalconi No, this star does not have a diameter of 10 light years. No star is that big or even close to it. VY Canis Majoris has a diameter of about 1.864 billion miles. A light year is 5,865,696,000,000 miles. It's not even close.
